If you discover an error in your auction description and there is less than 12 hours remaining before the auction ends eBay will not let you revise the auction. So if you have bidders on the auction the only safe recourse is let the auction close and alert the winning bidder of the error and let them decide if they still want the item or want a discount for the error. If you cancel the bids instead (as I was advised to do by an eBay Customer Service Rep) you will be charged with a "Transaction Defect" and obviously upset the winning bidder. Another note on this is that when you cancel, the drop down gives you a menu of a few reasons why you are canceling. In this example above the real reason is not listed so you are forced to pick a reason which is not true and correct.
