With a 3 day handling time, if item sells today, or on the 4th, your deadline is midnight on Mon the 9th (1st business day Thurs, 2nd Fri, 3rd Mon).
It is entirely possible* that eBay has screwed this holiday up, is (or will be) showing incorrect "Ship by" dates on sold items, and might hit you with a late shipment ding if you ship Mon, which you will then probably have to call in and get removed.
It is now the way of things around here. Broken website and policies. Sellers have to do the legwork to stay afloat.
*I can't say if there is a problem with the 4th in eBay's calculations as I had no sales today, and expect none tomorrow, or the next day, or the next...)
This holiday has been a shipping problem for Ebay ever since they sent the programming offshore and those programmers do not know how to read an American Calendar or Postal Holidays Calendar. That would be to much work and effort to maybe get something like that correct. Especially the 4th of July !!!!!

Ebay tells you in a note when you have to ship by. Look at the bottom of your sold listing.

If the post office is open- ship.
Just because you have three (business) days doesn't mean you cannot ship sooner.
Personally, I drop all my shipments into the corner mailbox, either the one with the 9am pickup or the one with the 3pm pickup, but I gather USPS doesn't have any more boxes, unlike Canada Post.
The packages and envelopes get stamped at the terminal.

OP wants to know when they HAVE to ship by, my response was look at the bottom of your sold listing. That is where they can find the answer. I have a 2 day handling time, I ALWAYS ship within 24 hrs or same day. What was my reward today for that?? Customer buys a 109.00 item, to which I package print and ship 2.5 hrs after the sale. I leave and stand in line at PO and mail package then go out to dinner and watch the fireworks at a friends house and come home to a message from my buyer asking to "CANCEL" through ebay messages because they were only "watching" the item and their "ASSISTANT" purchased by mistake. 4 hours AFTER the sale and when the package is already in the mail system!! So yeah ship as fast as possible OP. Now I got a headache coming because I try and ship ASAP!

Really is undeserved, disappointing, unfair, but best to let go of something you can't control.
