I would like to list using the old listing format-but it is saying there is a problem-sales tax,

I do not charge sales tax, I never have, and unable to make my listing accepted-I am using the old format-the new listing format does not give me the correct options I need . I have not sold since the new format came out on ebay-I am not a store, or big seller. Can I use the old format-I have checked my account settings, and I do not have the collect sales tax option checked.

This is what appears at the left top of my listing page after I click after I have completed filling out the page and then hit list your item. I find no place on the listing page that mentions sales tax.

It looks like there's a problem with this listing.

  • The selected tax rate is lower than the minimum allowed value, or greater than the maximum allowed value.

No idea what you mean by "old listing format" and "new listing format".

One thing to check is your global settings: http://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SellerSalesTaxTable

Make sure all the rate boxes there are empty, and save it when they are.

Go to the listing and revise it. Hit customize (link on upper right), make sure sales tax option is ON, scroll down and make sure no sales tax amount is present, and most importantly that no state is selected (choose the blank space at the top of the choices). I think you might want to save those revisions, then you can revise again, go back to customize, hide the sales tax option, and save the listing again (I say save twice because I'm not sure a clogged setting will clear if you turn off the sales tax option visibility before saving the changes).

I would like to list using the old listing format-but it is saying there is a problem-sales tax,

thanks,

(I was referring to old listing format or advanced listing format-as this does not happen on the current quick listing tool version.)

I have been on phone w/customer rep for over 30 minutes now-and all your suggestions have been done,  through them-and  i had previously tried your same suggestions myself., except My listing will not upload, so I can not revise it.

I am going to redo the steps you recommended, over and over again throughou the day, in case it will reset itself.

Cust. service does not know why the red warning regarding tax is coming up.  It is giving them this same message when they try to list an item under my ID.

I thank you for your help, I am still able to list through the quick listing tool, and will do that-Customer service, I guess, will take this over and figure out the glitch, they said.  Unknown when it will be....

I would like to list using the old listing format-but it is saying there is a problem-sales tax,

You are using the advanced listing form, and the listing is currently a draft that you can't get to upload and list? If so, you "complete" draft which is essentially a "revise".

Or is the tax error preventing it from even saving as a draft and you are starting from scratch or doing a sell similar each time? (if doing a sell similar you might try starting from scratch)

In your OP you said " I find no place on the listing page that mentions sales tax." That is where you would need to customize the advanced listing form page to show the sales tax option as I mentioned.

What seems to be the same issue happened to another, and the steps I described were the solution:
