After a buildup in Jan and Feb and a propserous March I did about half of March's sales last month (still a good amount though) but this month just spelled death. Only made two sales and it's close to June. I have no expectations for sales happening in the next few days and I hear summer is generally slow. I really hope things turn around.

Sure I get that but I had no problems selling a few of those last month and i have more sought after sizes up for grabs now. Checking a few other consignment sites I actually have cheaper prices on most of those pairs

Or maybe because we had an extended winter in parts of the country where those affected were more likely to shop online. Now that the weather is finally more conducive to outdoor activities and travel - people just aren't shopping online.
My sales have always slowed down from mid-April to mid-July.

Hi, how long have you been selling? I ask because it is said that new sellers get a temporary boost in Search to jumpstart their selling accounts. We have no way to prove this theory except for anecdotal evidence found here on the boards. So it’s possible you may have been enjoying good Search placement and now, not so much.

Today, I had my first sale since last Monday & only 4th sale in the last 10 days. It was a pity sale? lol My expectations are not high for the coming months. Hope we all see improvements! Cheers!

May has been one of my best months all year so far. It's really not too complex. I can tell you what my "secret" is, and I often post it on the forums, but it takes a lot of dedication and effort, so it's not for everyone.
1) Try to list at least 10-20 new items daily. This doesn't include re-lists. When I list 20 or so items daily, I notice that my other items will magically start selling. Some speculate that this phenomenon happens because it brings in more traffic, but, I've literally had days where I'd go on a 50+ item binging spree and would have 2-3 items sell that very day or the following day that have been collecting dust in my store for over two years, so... I find some correlation. I'm not the only one who notices that listing daily improves everything. I've heard of people having success with as little as five new listings per day. But it has to be constant. Whenever I get sick and stop listing my usual 10-20 new items per day (I'll sometimes list up to 50 items per day, rarely), I notice that sales slow when I'm sick or too busy to keep listing daily.
2) Selling in a niche or overly saturated category will slow down sales, especially during times when certain things are off-season or when people are more out and about and less likely to do their shopping for such things online.
3) Unfortunately, a lot of the people that I see struggling with sales sometimes don't have a lot of things listed. It's even slower for those that have below 200 listings + sell in a very niche category / overly saturated category. If you REALLY want to start making lots of sales, I'd list 20 new items daily until you hit 1,000 listings, if your limit permits it. If not, you can always call and ask for an increase.
Following all three steps is how I manage to do very well on here. It takes hard work, though. I have a full time job, though, on top of my Ebay business and I still manage to find a lot of free time. I usually crank out 20 new listings at the start of each day and try to punch them out as quickly as I can. Nowadays, I can manage to photograph and list 20 new things within an hour - hour and a half. Then, as the day goes by, I notice that some of my newer things will sell and so will some of my older things. If I'm in a binge listing mood, I'll aim for 30-40 listings on a particular day, sometimes 50, and that'll really boost EVERYTHING as far as sales go. I've just become very quick with my whole process so listing and photographing that much shouldn't take more than a few hours for me. But yeah, those are some tips, which I know are not for everyone, but it works for me.

Thank you for your thoughts. I looked at some of your sales and some of them came from Best Offer which I think is a good marketing tool. I didn't notice you running sales but I have been doing that lately. For a while I had a boost in sales but have sagged these past few weeks. Going by your rule of thumb I am not listing enough every day.
