Did you mean:

I think some buyers lack patience...

Last Thursday - sold an item

Later on Thursday emailed buyer to advise that I live in Canada and the courier schedule (to be picked up on Tuesday) - buyer replied this was no problem

Sunday I print a label to get the package ready for Tuesday pick up.

While I was sleeping late last night the buyer emailed to ask why he hasn't received it yet.

I think it's possible he's got me confused with someone else. He claimed I shipped it a week ago. I replied that he only bought it on Thursday and responded positively to my note about shipping.

Yes. Buyers do get yippy for their items.  They also do mix up sellers in their panic of late deliveries. Message your buyer and include date of purchase and date of shipping. Advise all shipping is delayed due to Covid-19.

I advised him of the time line so he'd know that he hadn't purchased a week ago (so I couldn't have shipped it then) and that eBay's delivery estimate is in two weeks.

I haven't heard back, but I know that no news is usually good news.

During the holiday season a few years ago we had an ebayer buy the item and immediately write us asking why they hadn't gotten it yet.

They could be mixed up with another item. Or it's their way of trying to rush us.

Buyers are just unfair sometimes. I have a case against me right now with funds on hold. The tracking was uploaded AND updated by USPS on time, but it stopped moving mid journey. I know thats annoying but its out of my control. At the top of the tracking page it says "DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER, PACKAGES MAY BE DELAYED". And you know, theres a little thing called Covid going on.... But the buyers still think that opening a case against me and taking the money from my account is somehow either going to get them their package faster, or I guess think they deserve free stuff. I dont really get it but its not fair to the seller if they did everything right. I cant control weather or virus.

In this current case they never even messaged me first to tell me its late, which I could at least open a post office request on the tracking which sometimes gets things moving it feels like. When they just open a case right away it feels like they want to rip you off and get a free item. I dont even hold Amazon Prime to their guarantee delivery date for months now because of everything going on. Its just not fair to do so whether its a billion dollar company or a person selling their video game collection.

I get confused with items won and shipped once in awhile also. It happens as I buy a lot of items under several ID's. when I mess up I just admit it and apologize.  Good luck.

Good  news - false alarm. He was ordering a birthday gift from another seller and mixed up the seller IDs and messaged me by mistake. He's cool with waiting for his coin, all good.

I did suspect there was a mix up, but I didn't want to be presumptuous by telling him that, I just gave him the facts of his shipment. He apologized too, all good.
