A customer bought a owners manual from me. I think it was $10 + $5 shipping. After i sent it he realized he bought the wrong manual (wrong model number).
I told him the wrong manual was already sent, but i'm going to send him the correct manual, free of charge, no additional shipping. Just send me back the wrong manual when he gets it.
He did ... along with extra postage to cover the double shipping.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Happy Holidays to you too! That's what people sometimes forget - the majority of our buyers and sellers are good people. Occasionally we have experiences with those that cause us a problem but when compared to the number of overall transactions we have - they aren't as common - but that's mostly all we hear about on the boards - our bad experiences.

I'm glad you had a good buyer and a good experience.
I used to believe all people were basically good but I now know otherwise.

ALL people aren't basically good but many are. My ebay customers have been just great in the face of mistakes I've made. There's more of the human connection here compared to the aridity of Amazon.

I sold a dish set to a man for his wifes anniversary. Somehow I was short 6 dinner plates accoriding to the customer. WHAT? So i gave him the benefit of the doubt and purchased 6 plates from replacements and send them to him. He was so impressed he actually PAID me for the plates I had to purchase from replacements.
HE insisted and would not take NO for an answer.
I agree generally people are really good.
Merry Christmas

I love this story...and will add one of mine from my selling days. I sent the wrong items to 2 buyers. They both messaged me about it, and lo and behold offered to send the items on to the correct buyers. I provided the info (don't think that's possible now) and they each sent the item to the other. We were all very happy...especially (whew) me! I refunded the postage of course.
I had that happen more times than I want to admit, and yes most people are really great even though it's some measure of a hassle for them to mail the packages to each other.
These days I just send replacement books to each of them. Fortunately since I see books there are always other copies, though most of the time more expensive than the ones I sold. : - /

That's so awesome! Thank you for cheering me up. I am currently dealing with the rare, twice a year problem with an eBayer, so I needed a pick me up.

You story is familiar, but it probably happens more than we know. Still...
I remember buying from a very kind woman who sold for funds for rescue animals. Her items were great! I bought a Santa teddy bear motionette, and someone else bought a set of pumkin Fall candles in glass container, IIRC.
The other customer got her order first and knew it was someone else's, so she contacted the seller, who contacted me and asked if I would be willing to send it on to the other buyer, who would send my item that she received to me.
Of course I said yes, and each of us sent the items out, and all went well. The seller was so grateful she refunded shipping, and when I said that was not necessary, she insisted. A great lady!
