I see an item on eBay and want to sell it. When I try, it gets removed as not allowed. Why?

I had eBay call me and help get this item listed. It was accepted for a while, then I got a notice that the listing was removed due to policy violations. The item is exactly like the one in the following listings:

I have been in chat, and to customer service a few times, but can't seem to get this resolved.

If I try to report a similar listing, the pull-down choices do not provide a path to this being forbidden. More help? I've been on eBay for over 20 years.

I'm guessing they fall under these prohibited items:

• Any products that will bypass, defeat or render inoperative emission-control systems, either on their own or when combined with other hardware or software. See EPA Enforcement Alert for more information
• Any tuner, device or software that can modify vehicle performance, even if it does not remap the ECU or ECM or is described as diagnostic

If you keep trying to list them and they keep coming down, you will eventually be banned, so you may want to find somewhere else to sell these.

Because it is not allowed.

Learn the rules and regs of what can not be listed.

Oh and you on the radar: do not relist it if you desire to sell on eBay.....

Basing a listing decision on what other sellers are doing can get one's account in trouble. That is because eBay is rather inconsistent in the application of its policies, and sometimes falls behind in removing listings that violate the rules. The offending items can fall thru the cracks. So, just because there are other listings on eBay like yours, does not mean your item is safe to list.

Whatever you do, don't relist, even if you feel eBay mistakenly removed your item. We have seen it here on the boards. Multiple takedowns can get one's account suspended. If you persist, suspended for good.
