I received a negative feedback by mistake.

I received a negative feedback by mistake.

I have sent the buyer a revision request.  Ebay will not let me send another one. He shared he can not find it.  He is trying to change the feedback from negative to positive.

I sent ebay a request to look at this and side with me.  They closed the case and as a result it is still negative and I can not send a request to ebay that the buyer make a mistake.

I can not contact ebay for help... so I am trying to post here.   They buyer is new and does not know what to do to change the negative to positive.   He is trying.  He messaged me saying it was a mistake.

Thoughts or feedback would be welcome.  Thanks.  B.

Looks like the customer just misclicked, yeah.  That said, eBay is not usually going to remove feedback that doesn't violate policy, and if the buyer can't figure out the revision request you may be stuck.  That's not uncommon, btw, it should be in their eBay Messages but I haven't actually used it myself and I'm told it can be tricky for buyers to figure out in many cases.  They only have a short time to click the link (I think 10 days) in the revision request too, so it may have expired or will expire soon.

I would suggest reaching out to eBay via their social media customer support, it tends to be one of the best ways to get in touch with them.  Don't assume they will remove it, but the one thing you have in your favor is that they left a positive comment with a negative feedback, which should help you.  They may just say they can't do anything, or there is even a risk that they could remove the comment but the negative would remain (which would be worse than your current situation, since right now anyone that looks at your feedback would know immediately that the customer just made a mistake).

Your experience is exactly why I always advise sellers to be in open conversation with the buyer BEFORE issuing a Feedback Revision form.  There are a few reasons for this.

1.  The buyer needs to agree with you that they are willing to revise the feedback.

2.  Let the buyer know that they will soon receive an email from Ebay.  Inside that email there will be a link for them to easily change their feedback.

3.  Sellers have a limited number of these Forms available to them in a years time.

4.  These emails have a shelf life of about 10 days.  After the buyer can't use the email to fix the feedback.

5.  Once you send a Feedback Revision form on a transaction, you can not, under any circumstance send another one.

I would suggest you give the automated version of a feedback removal form as it may just remove the feedback for you.  It only takes a moment.

Go to the Seller Help page. Towards the bottom of the screen you will see a place to click on to submit the feedback for removal.

I received a negative feedback by mistake.

Had that happen - called the buyer - they openly said the  neg FB was their error and would have it remove  & they did.  Simple procedure  https://www.ebay.com/help/home
