So I just receive a very official looking lowball offer on an item I do not have best offer selected for. There was even a button for me to accept offer. I went in my listing and see no where a place for someone to make an offer. Can someone please clue me in to what is going on? Is Ebay making decisions for me again and do I now have to waste my time responding to ridiculous offers on Buy-it-Now items where I have not selected best offer? Thanks!

It's no longer a violation to make an offer on a listing where the seller has not chosen to have Best Offer.
They've also given us a reply with offer button so the seller can make an offer to the buyer in response, should they feel so inclined.
If you're not interested just say so and don't use the offer button on the reply. You don't HAVE to respond.
eta: It's also possible you're using the new Quick Listing tool on which eBay has decided to add BO to your listings and you can't remove it. If so, try using the Advanced Listing tool.

· Communicate only on eBay
· Be respectful at all times
· Make sure transactions take place on eBay
· Avoid unsolicited or commercial offers
When I go to contact you there is NO place for me to make an official offer on your item. I woud be leary of clicking accept on any message. Ebay even tells you to stay away from unsolicited offers, which this is since you do not have the make offer on the listing.

It sounds like a phising email to trick you into clicking a link and giving up your password to a fake login page.
