I have a couple questions on returns that "Doesn't match description or photos"

I been trying to educate my self with all the rules within ebay so i know specifically what to do if something happens. I been attempting to read upon this for hours as i see it could effect stores dramatically.

1. If a buyer submits a item "Doesn't match description or photos", and ebay automatically approves it.. and i receive the item, if i issue the full refund.. will i receive some kind of defect in my seller account?

I spoke to two employee over the phone, and they both concluded that if i get a case and do not agree with the request that i should not issue a refund, and after appeal for it.. is this the right choice? I keep reading this is like the complete opposite you'd do as seller 99% always loose the case.

EBay keeps track of your returns, period, even if there’s no problem and it was a friendly return.

Any buyer can say an item is not as described. They get automatic permission from EBay to return the item - no matter your return policy. It’s called the Money Back Guarantee.

Dont refuse, that’s what gives you a demerit - whole other level of problem metric. Just take the return, refund upon receipt, and only THEN report the buyer if you think they abused the system (fibbed to get a free return).

Best not to get too emotional about the whole thing - unless you’re in a high scam category, most returns are just an honest difference of opinion.

Believe what you read.  Not what you hear from customer support.

Please do not ever listen to what a CSR tells you to do.  First come to the boards and ASK how to proceed.  IDK how some of these so called Customer service associates can sleep at night.

This quest stands on the edge of a blade...stray but a little and you shall fail to the ruin of us all.
