Just another rant. First, of all I generally sell personal preowned items. So no, I don't know the date it was manufactured or the brand on an unmarked item. I most certainly didn't care when I bought my stuff unless it was a collectible. Moreover, many of those are usually dated by a a particular time period i.e. 1891-1921 .
Every time I get one of these messages I at least look to see where I can add them especially if they are the required ones. However, eBay needs to realize that not all sellers are selling brand new items with UPC and MPN numbers. I've been complying all along yet today I get a message that recommended revising 259 of my listings. Really eBay? 259 Listings? No way! I object, and I'm just not going to do it or waste my time. I describe them well enough already in the item description and it's up to the buyer to read the item details. If eBay hadn't screwed up all their categories it much of it wouldn't even be needed.
For example, when selling a simple pair of ladies heels exactly what does theme or character have to do with anything. If I buy a pair of shoes online you get the basic information such as brand name, style, size, heel height, color, and material. Anything that is truly relevant I put in my listing. How many of us know the material of the insole, heel to toe drop, (whatever that is) or cushioning level. If this kind of information is that important to a buyer they can contact the manufacturer, and ask since I'm not going to bother. If something is handmade it's not going to have a brand.
Then I get really annoyed by their continual recommendations on reducing my pricing when they don't even have anything to offer for comparison. Frankly, it's not anyone's business how I price with the exception of the buyer. From my perspective unless it's required I'm not going to bother as I already add everything I deem helpful to a buyer.

I agree this used to drive me crazy as well when I used to sell. I literally filled out every single category for every single item via the drop down and I would STILL get "item recommendations." Easy pricing would be a great feature if it was allowed to be on the PC - it's only on the app - I don't know how people sell from the app anyway they leave so much out from descriptions and it's just a hot mess. You can't even turn them off!
