I didn't sell, didn't list, but ebay sold something in my name!

A friend asked me to write, because his account has been suspended.

I didn't sell anything, but e-bay listed, and sold something for me. I didn't get the payment, but the buyer wants the money, and ebay closed the case inmediatley, so I had no chance to reply. But they want me to reply in the next days. They want me to pay , but I didn't sell anyhing!!! What can I do??????

Your friend needs to call EBay and find out what's going on.

Agreed. It sounds like someone hacked his account and diverted the payment to a different PayPal account.

Everybody here is just like you, a buyer, a seller or a bystander.  Very few eBay staff come here and none will be able to answer the question you asked.  Your friend must call eBay for answers.

I don't know, First came e-bay e-mail to change password, then came e-mail about selling, but a day after other mails about the item didn't arrive, and account suspended. But betveen open case by buyer, and suspended account was 20 min. So that's why we think something is not ok around the ebay. My only problem is, that tomorrow it will happen to me, or to others, and it will be not 20$, but more? I trusted e-bay till now, and bought many things, but if we call e-bay in the USA from the EU, it will cost more then 20$...

Ebay might have suspected that the account was hacked and temporarily suspended the account until the actual owner contacts them to claim the account.

Happened to me more than once where I was hacked and ebay temporarily took a hold of my account where I could not access it until I contacted them.

I have never done it but I have read where it is possible to contact ebay through facebook.

It is true, there is an item as it was sold. With picture, and description he didn't write.

You can't blame eBay for your friend's account being hacked.

Chances are he fell for a phishing email or a keylogger on his computer.

I don't think that this is the case. How it's possible, that e-bay don't let time for reaction?
