I accepted best offer, buyer paid... now wants to cancel

I had a vintage Gucci belt posted.  A buyer asked a few questions about sizing and width, I answered.  They sent a best offer - I accepted and they paid.  The next day they request to cancel.

I told them it has already been sent for shipping.

Do I have to accept the cancellation?  I listed as free shipping, but of course I did pay for shipping out of the sale price.

Thanks

You do not have to cancel if the item has already shipped. To avoid a false SNAD, you can welcome them to return the belt. If you handle the return between yourselves, you can issue a partial refund. if the buyer opens a return request with ebay, they get a full refund since original shipping was free.

If it has already been shipped I do not think there is a way to cancel it?  Tell your buyer it was shipped and explain to them how they can see the tracking number progress in there order details.

  1. Since you do not accept returns the buyer might just refuse the package which will get returned to you.
  2. They might also open a not as described request which is a return under the money back gaurantee that the seller pays return shipping.
  3. They might file an unauthorized charge with there CC company
  4. They might also just keep it.

What do you mean the item has been sent for shipping? If it has not yet shipped, cancel the order. It will save you a lot of hassle. You will have to accept the return. My rule is simple; buyer request cancellation, I cancel. No questions asked.

Unless it has already left your house I would cancel. You can void the label. No good ever comes of forcing someone to take something they don't want.

Cancel with buyer requested and relist.
