I WAS SCAMMED BY A USER FROM INDIA

Hello,

Recently I was scammed by this buyer from India

I sold an article valued in 80 €, he said he had received a different article, even he uploaded a photo of a different article.  He told to ebay that and that he wanted to return the article (he wanted to return an article valued in 3 €), obviously I refused to accept but ebay told me that if I didn´t accept the return the buyer would be refunded. Ebay even wanted me to pay the cost of the shiping return.

Finally I lost the article valued in 80 €, the shipping cost that also was refunded and

even ebay has charged me the comission of the sale.

And  to make things worse I have received a negative vote with a bad comment!!!

I think it´s not fair that sellers are so unprotected against scammers on this site.

Did this transaction take place on ebay.com, or another eBay site, like ebay.es?

Since there are so many differences with EU regulations versus United States, you might want to post this on the ebay.es discussion boards:

eBay has no way of knowing what you shipped, what the buyer received, what the buyer returned, or what was returned to you. So there is no way they can determine who is lying.

So eBay chose to side with buyers, and unscrupulous buyers benefit. But if eBay chose to side with sellers, unscrupulous sellers would benefit.

By siding with buyers, eBay avoids the cost of refunds (because sellers foot the bill) and eBay avoids losing buyers (because they value buyers more than sellers).

So, you sold something that you couldn't lose without a sick feeling in your stomach? Lesson learned; I hope.

Be glad you were going to get back a 3 Euro item...another seller posted a scam ran on him where the buyer used a fake tracking number and fake tracking website to "ship back" an expensive item...tracking showed the return completed...100% refund...seller informed ebay the tracking #/site were fake...ebay.."tough luck".
