Always wondered.... if we provide prepaid shipping labels and are on the hook for the shipping cost, is there an appropriate response to take if a buyer decides to use a much larger box? Any consequences? It seems like Ebay only lets you refund the buyer entirely. I'm honestly surprised there is not an option to refund the buyer by an additional 100% of the purchase price for all the trouble.

I have only had two returns in 20 years so no experience with your situation. I would assume if you provide a return label and the person ends up sending it costing more it would be returned back to that person and you would be off the hook for non receipt of the item back.

I could be wrong but I would think if the buyer used a bigger/heavier that costs more, you would be billed for it, after all it is YOUR shipping label. Just like you would be billed for a package you sent that weighed more than you thought.

If the seller provides the return label, then the seller is responsible for that return label cost and will be charged accordingly.
