Spotted today for a clothing item, succinct and to the point, has moved into My Top 5:
unreal value

Nice
Will probably sell out by tomorrow. I suppose the two pictures included were dark and fuzzy? That would be par for the course.

“Nice item” is in my top 3; when it’s used to describe something that looks like it was hit by a truck, it moves to #1.

Was unreal value the description?
Yes. Two words. That was it.
Sweet tea was right; seller had used two fuzzy photos.

The title of this thread is written in sarcasm font.
Maybe the description was in sarcasm font also, LOL.
IMO nothing makes for a better description than "See pictures" when the pictures reek.

Oooh, I like that one, too, but I still think the use of "unreal" tops it. Descriptive brilliance.

I buy dolls but please don't judge me! (I have read that doll buyers are the most difficult, but really, I'm not!)
I just love the doll listings that scream MINT and the poor thing looks like Fido had a tug of war with it, and guess who won? Hair all over the place, clothing wrecked. Clearly in sad shape. I have no idea what drives that designation.
I don't know in what universe some things would be called MINT!

Or there is only one dark, blurry picture!

I've been playing back and forth on 2 different accounts.
Right now it looks like I get more sales with a shorted listing. People seem to have a tolerance of about 2 sentances.

I really try, and I do have some listings down to bullet points, but right now I have lots of collector-type things that need over-describing as to the teensiest of issues.
I remember years ago I wrote a desciption that had to be the longest in history for ebay (not counting TOS and all that). It went on forever but it was a Chanel clothing item and it sold fairly quickly for $1500.
Key words: "years ago"
Do you think the shorter description success has something to do with the stinkin' mobile app? Or is it simply that buyers know they can return anything?
