They've been doing this to me every day for the past week - it seems like they're stepping it up since I've been immediately revising the listings to NOT accept offers after getting that "good news, your listing can now accept offers!" message. Look, if I wanted offers I'd enable that in the first place, and I'm tired of continually wasting time fixing something eBay is forcing on me.
Is there any way to turn off this feature permanently?

I'm sorry you are going through this.

I really doubt they are changing listings from not accepting offers to accepting offers.
What i think is happening is they are making accepting offers as the default when you create or renew a listing. If you don't catch it, your listing now accepts offers. The accept offers box is pre-checked. You must un-check it.

It appears ebay is adding the Best Offer option to fixed priced listings and auto relist if you are using the Quick Listing Tool.
To remove that option, go to My ebay > Selling > Listings > Active > Edit
You will now have to switch to the advanced listing form with more choices. That option is in the upper right corner. Once you switch, you will be able to scroll down and uncheck the Best Offer option and auto relist.

This happened to me several months ago, I had to go into each auction one at a time and uncheck the box it was a pain doing that, but it has never came back....Da Nut

They are definitely changing listings automatically to accept offers. When I post items, I specifically un-check the Accept Offers box that is checked by default and hidden in Other Options. Sometimes I get a notice that my items can now accept offers and sometimes I don't.

Happening to items that are in the middle of a listing cycle - not even up for relisting. I've learned to accept the automatic relist to 30 days, but this changing listings randomly to accept offers is taking up so much of my time. Even when I have not checked the accept offers block when listing, ebay is selecting items at random and updating them. Two items had 19 days to go before relist time and ebay changed them to accept offers. If I had wanted to accept offers, I would have set it up that way or made it an auction.
Most of my items are not high price items and offers would not be appropriate. How many of us have to complain before Ebay stops this practice? I'm warning several friends who are just starting out in ebay to watch out for this pitfall!
I think ebay is trying to generate more revenue for themselves via quicker turnover. I am getting a large number of emails from them suggesting that I lower the price by this or that amount. I do my research and pay close attention to my pricing. All of this is time-consuming and not helpful!!!

Yes, you can remove this option when using the long form for listings, but that is only good for the original listing or until ebay decides to revise it! It is happening randomly to my listings, even between renewal times. I have to check my listings every day to revise them. Editing them takes a lot of time. Not a happy camper!

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I list many items which are somewhat rare or uncommon, so the listing price is correct, however ebay is updating listings to accept offers and wasting my time by both having to respond to inappropriately low offers and disabling the offer settings. This automatic change does NOT have sellers like me in mind, but ebay's own profits.

Are you using the advanced listing form?
