Got a super obvious ebay message today from someone with a brand new account opened today, sending a phone number trying to arrange to buy a high priced item off of ebay. Is there a way to report this email directly to ebay?

Call ebay. Or report spam email via spoof@ebay.com.

And DO NOT engage, via ebay message or worse, phone!!

Besides, any legit buyer knows better ways.

Yeah I knew I would be getting a lot of scammers on this listing. They think I'm a newb because this account is new, whereas it's only new because I divorced and no longer share an account with my ex. I just had someone make a "best offer" of $5.00 more than the buy it now price - again, from a brand new account. I'm not stupid.

I hear ya!!!
If more and more sellers sat up and took notice like this, there'd be less and less reasons for posts like this!

Ignore the message. Delete it and put the person on your BBL.

Oh. Yet another reason for a sacrificial buying id.

What if the message isn't a spoof? There's a difference between someone pretending to be ebay, and someone breaking the rules. Where do I report someone breaking the rules?
Nowhere, now, for messages. Ebay took out the 'report' button from the message for some unfathomable reason.

"Obviously I cancelled the order citing "buyer asked to cancel,"........"
Pardon, but I'm a bit slow. A few too many pucks to the head.........
Just exactly how did you cancel an order when the potential buyer couldn't do the BIN, made a best offer, and asked to do deal off ebay? All 3 of those sound like NO SALE!! At some point, you agreed???
Or maybe you were just dreaming??

Same problem here. Two different messages on one item trying to get me to email them directly to accept more than ask price.

I can't find anywhere to report this act either.
*******Sellers Beware**********
A customer bought one of my high price items. I had 5 watchers. A few minutes later, I get a message from a DIFFERENT account (opened 5 days ago!!) saying
"thank you for deal, I have to move for business reasons. Can you forward item to new address instead?"
Don't know if this is a new tactic from scammers. I've never had this problem with Ebay.

Yes, it is another scam coming in your ebay messages. The person IS NOT your buyer and wants you ship to a different address. If you comply, the scammer will get the merchandise and your real buyer will likely file an item not received claim>
