A buyer recently claimed that I sold them a fake poster. I sent this person backup information proving the false claim plus an email I received from the previous owner. The buyer ignored this information and went ahead and left the negative feedback. It is definitely hurting my business. I went through the suggested channels EBay describes but the only thing I could do successfully was reply. Are there any other options?
Trying to contact EBay about this is like walking into a brick wall. Even though the dialogue between me and the buyer and me and the original owner is documented in EBay, they will do nothing to remove it. Totally unfair…big problem with EBay.

You have received a lot of positive feedback since that neg. Plus, you left a factual (non-emotional) response. You have lots and lots of positive feedback going back years. I don't think this one negative feedback will slow you down any. I have received an unfair neg in the past too. It's irritating, but it happens and most people understand that. It takes all kinds, and some people can't be satisfied. It takes a year to fall off, but it will go away. I don't think that one will hurt you.

eBay won’t be removing the negative feedback because it doesn’t violate eBay policy. It is your buyers opinion of the transaction nothing more. As the previous poster pointed out, you have plenty of positive feedback, both before and after that negative. It will roll into the next pages quickly and age off in 12 months.

This happens to the best of us, it seems when dealing with the public long enough, the one in a thousand shows up and rains on your parade. Sometimes under the right circumstances you can get a Negative Feedback removed, other times they won't consider it. Like other posters have said your response is good so if anyone is concerned about it, they get both sides of the story. You will have to live with it for a year so don't worry about it. Sorry for your situation, however buyers are allowed to post their opinions in feedback. I really don't think 1 is going to hurt you much. You look like you work hard at your shop and have for many years. You answered the feedback professionally explaining your side without being derogatory or negative. Look at it this way, 99.5% of your buyers were very happy with their purchases from you and are obviously singing your praises, so that's to be commended on your behalf. I would happily purchase an item from your shop regardless of the comment.
