While you do cover the bullet points above in some detail, I don't see any mention of adding the Make Offer option to an auction, and when that might be a good or a bad idea.

Just my opinion.........
Auction style listings have enough issues,. adding Best Offer just makes them even more of a target for scammers of one sort or another.
I didn't fully read the information linked in the OP but from a quick skim it seems to match much of what is posted on this board to newbies when they are listing everything as Auctions but don't know anything about when they are appropriate and when they are not and as a result run into countless problems.
Just my opinion but I don't think Best Offer is a good idea for many sellers especially those who are new to eBay.

We can't say it too often, and having eBay make an Official statement about the usefulness of auctions certainly doesn't hurt.

IMNSHO, tech writers who make statements like, "There are also some eBay marketplace categories that make Buy It Now available after the first bid for a limited time...." should be drawn and quartered. WHICH categories? HOW is the time limited??
I know the answers to these questions because I've been around eBay for ages. But that information is no longer presented anywhere on the Help pages. The full answer doesn't take up many more characters than the vague statement that was offered.
