How to get an incorrect product review removed from a listing

I listed a 1970s trumpet and there are 6 (six) reviews that showed up on the listing.  One of the reviews states "Trumpet was in decent shape. Needed professional cleaning but now works fine. Would have liked better communication on this and condition of case."

Well, that review surely has nothing to do with my listing, but potential buyers may see it and get confused.

Trinton, how can I get this obviously incorrect review removed?   trinton@ebay

p.s. I do realize that I listed the item as "new" when in fact it's preowned, but I can't change it at the moment since I received offers on the item.

Thanks.

How to get an incorrect product review removed from a listing

I am pretty sure the rating is tied to the brand and the model number in the "Item Specifics".  To find out, remove one or the other or both, and see if the ratings disappear.

If you want to keep the brand/model number up in the "Item Specifics" you might be able to create a new entry with that information.

How to get an incorrect product review removed from a listing

I just noticed that another review on the listing is from 2010.  I didn't think that reviews could be made on ebay back then.  If not, then where are these reviews being pull from?

I don't think they are removable since

Ebay placed those reviews into your listing.

These reviews are not directed at you nor do they have anything to do with you.

I agree that this can be confusing to the buyer and can plausibly break interest in a sale at casual glance, , it certainly is inappropriate in my opinion.

So ebay invites buyers to review products, verified purchasers or not,  and then pools and places the reviews into every listing that sells what you are selling. Originally, it was meant for a specific seller, ebay gives it to you and everyone.

I don't know away around it. It seems some sellers put a bit of HTML in their listings to make the reviews show way below at the bottom of the page after a space of one or two of blank space.

It seems sellers have no choice in what I see as a boondoggle.

Just a followup to my initial post. I did remove the model number from the"Item Specifics" (I kept the brand) and the reviews went away.  Thanks ellis61!

Cancel the listing and start over.  You're asking for all kinds of problems if you don't.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.
