Buyer put in 60 characters as the street address. USPS/Ebay labels split those 60 characters automatically and didn't give me an error message. The address as printed was Courtyard by Marriott A*** Airport 9 E. Ben, etc. It should be 4809 E. Ben, etc. I sent a screenshot of the correct address to buyer through messages. They responded with photo of correct address of 4809. Package has bounced between the regional distribution center and 4 local PO's. It is now back at the distribution center. Had spoken with Rep at last PO and she had said she could tell that it was undeliverable by looking at the incorrect address. She was supposed to talk to carrier, look through their undeliverable pile and call me back. She didn't call & PO has not answered any calls I've made. Case opened on USPS.com hasn't received response. Have spoken to Ebay CS twice. They see the issue but won't do anything until usps marks undeliverable. Is there any way I can push USPS to mark this as undeliverable as addressed before I have to refund buyer?

I don't know any way to do that.
This is not exactly an answer to your question, but I think it is the best solution for your problem.
USPS Package InterceptWhat It IsUSPS Package Intercept® lets you redirect a domestic shipment that hasn’t been delivered or released for delivery. It’s available for packages, letters, and flats with a tracking or extra services barcode.
You can also stop mail and packages at a Post Office™ as a Hold For Pickup or send them to a different domestic address. You can even request to have them redirected as Priority Mail® back to your address.
Commercial CustomersIf you have a Centralized Account Payment System (CAPS) account, you can register online at the Business Customer Gateway to make your request and pay applicable fees.
Sign UpHow it Works
- Verify that your shipment is eligible for Package Intercept.
- If eligible, you can submit your request online after logging in with your USPS.com account.
- After submitting your request, you’ll be provided an estimated total (estimated postage plus intercept fee). We will then attempt to intercept and redirect the shipment.
- If the package is intercepted, your credit card will be charged the $12.95 Package Intercept fee plus postage. If the actual postage is greater than estimated, any additional postage will be charged accordingly.
- With Package Intercept, you can redirect mail or packages to the sender or new address. Your local Post Office can also hold for pickup.

@lacemaker3 Thank you for the response! I had considered that, but there isn't any time frame for an intercept, I can't have it returned to me, and the $12.95 fee may not be refundable if they don't find it. Since this was opened just before midnight Sun night I need it marked undeliverable as addressed or held for him by early Friday morning. It left the regional distribution center last night, so usps's 'best guess' is that its on its way back to me already. But it may be redirected to a 4th post office, too. They've told me its undeliverable with the address they can see in tracking, but I guess they can't scan it in that way without the actual package. Ebay reps have confirmed there was an issue with either the address provided or how it was automatically printed. But they won't do anything until usps marks as delivery attempted or undeliverable as addressed. I guess it bothers me to just refund when the buyer is the one that put in the incorrect address and it may still get to them. This is 40% funny and 60% frustrating!
