I recall that eBay used to include the zip code or state of a person submitting an offer to the seller. Have they stopped providing this information? I looked at the messages that were sent to me regarding the offers and found only the buyers' user names and feedback scores. When I click on their usernames, it only shows when they registered and that they are located in the United States. So not helpful.
I often receive lowball offers on items that are expensive to ship due to being very bulky or heavy. I might be willing to accept such an offer from a person who lives in a nearby state but not from someone 3000 miles away. I wish eBay would stop making annoying changes. It seems that they don't care much about sellers. Please don't tell me to just charge enough for shipping to cover a long distance buyer. Obviously, I have already set my shipping rate with this in mind. The issue is when a buyer sends such a low offer that it would be worthwhile to accept it only if I can ship the item for much less than I charged. I wonder if eBay considers this discriminatory. It is certainly not. It makes perfect sense that a seller would accept a lower offer from buyers to whom they can ship less expensively.

Click on "respond to offer" and you'll see the zip code before you accept.

^^^ Excellent advice. You can always arrow back, @kendog2. Hope you bag a sale!

And there, you can accept, decline, or counter based on shipping zip code. Goodluck to all sellers this Holiday season.

Great question and good advise. My question is why do only some show zip code but not all ?

They all do, and it shows when you tick as @ten_o_nine advises.

It doesn’t show it for all of them. I have one right now that doesn’t give any info whatsoever besides username. I have clicked through every option and checked it through sellerhub and through messages. No zipcode, no location, did they change this because it’s ridiculous if they removed this key piece of info. Shipping to California is double the cost so it’s necessary to know what my shipping cost would be

Have you considered using Calculated Shipping instead of posting a fixed price? That way, buyers will see the actual cost of shipping to their location. Shipping costs are not a part of offers, so you would not need to be concerned about where the offer is coming from.

It may, or may not help as it really matters not. The buyer can have the item shipped to a different zip when paying.
Been there, had that. Accepted offer from buyer shown as "instate". Buyer provided a zip at payout that was a thousand miles away.
