How to end bid by buyer?

Buyer asked to retract a bid.

I believe you should tell the buyer to cancel the bid himself. Reason being is the buyer is trying to not get into trouble.

The sooner the bid is gone, the sooner the auction can get back on track with sincere bidders.  Bidders do not "get in trouble" for retracting a bid, but there is a risk that the bidder will fail to retract their bid or that other bidders will turn away from the auction when they see that there is already a bidder..
