This is about the second time in a two-month span where I’ve had an international buyer order a few of my records.
They both ask for the same thing: “Could you please bundle my order?”
When I got to send an invoice for them it says, “You cannot send an invoice for international orders.”
How can I bundle the items for the buyer? I could’ve sworn it used to work no problem. That’s what the first buyer said to me a month ago. I ended up having to cancel all his orders but one since it wouldn’t combine them.
Is there no way to easily combine shipping on international orders? All they want is a few 7” records. They don’t hardly weigh a thing.
I would really like to maintain a good relationship with my international customers!

if you are using eBay International Shipping (eIS) combined shipping is not currently offered.
It is supposedly being worked on, but no time frame has been given for a roll out of that.
Best current option seems to be to communicate with the buyer to cancel and relist in a single listing for purchase.

If I make a new listing with all three of the records as one bundle would that work?

Yes, that is an option.

I think it’s actually ridiculous that they rolled out eIS without combined shipping!
That being said, I’ll just create a new listing with the three records bundled as one.
Unfortunate, but thanks for the help.

Guess what...eBay also rolled out auto-pay for making offers and/or bidding on auctions...That prevents combined shipping as well and discourages buyers who do pay, and may want more than one of your items . Check your own preferences, yours are still set to the default of YES.

Buyer Payment Requirements
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they place a bid.
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer.
I have to go "up north" next month. Could use some long sleeve shirts since tee shirts and flip flops are not going to cut it. Making decent offers on your listings isn't going to work for me. It makes eBay more money though so that is all that counts.

I agree, it is ridiculous. That means that buyers who use it for the first time may decide that they are going to shop elsewhere because the EIS is too expensive when purchasing multiple items. The EIS are going to allow combined shipping in the future but they will already have lost some buyers and sellers because the system was not set up properly to begin with. That is such poor planning imo.

I also had to make a new listing with all the items wanted as a private sale.

At least sellers have the option to turn off that feature. Not much you can do with EIS at the moment other than what buyselljack2016 suggested for dealing with combined shipping on multiple orders. There have also been some quirky issues with combined shipping on BIN/IPR listings regardless of whether the buyer utilizes the shopping cart or not.

Auto checkout is toxic to combined shipping. "Go To Checkout" is the dead end to buying more items.
If I have several items on a wish list or even in my cart, a seller offers a discount on each item, if you "Go To Checkout" you pay shipping on every item. Will the seller refund the overcharge? Depends on the seller. It's just another stumbling block to jump over
