Hi, I was wondering what the process for cancelling an order from the seller side after accepting the offer? I recently accepted an offer from a buyer only for him to text me and ask me to buy a $200 gift card with the order to send to his cousin. So I did some digging and found out it’s a scam that they do and I want to cancel that offer. How do I do it?

Yes, it is a scam.
Personally, I would wait the four days the buyer has to pay for the item, and then cancel it using "buyer didn't pay." You'll get your fees refunded and can relist the item. The buyer will get a nonpayment strike; however, s/he probably used a throw-away account, but it will still feel good to give 'em that strike.

Nothing to do. most likely he hasn't paid you any way, wait for the 4 days for buyer to pay, and ask ebay to step in. this will give a strike against the buyer, and you will get your ebay fees back.

Report the ID @shrush-57, add it to your blocked list and info on cancelling:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/resolving-unpaid-items?id=4137
You could also cancel as buyer requested, but if you do that it will red flag things since your comms with them were done outside of eBay. If you want to cancel today as buyer requested then you need to reply to them on eBay and say since they tried to take the transaction off eBay you will be cancelling their order. The unpaid item process is easier with no chance of your cancellation being flagged for seller abuse of cancellations policy.
Never agree to text/email off platform to complete a basic sale.

You cannot cancel an "offer" (you have to wait for it to time out...about 3 days). Be sure to add this person to your "block list."
Scammers target new sellers or anyone selling "high value" items. If you get scammed you will NOT be protected by EBAY.

There's no need to "ask ebay [sic] to step in." The nonpayment cancellation option will appear when the buyer's window of opportunity to pay has closed. It's all done online, with no eBay customer service contact required.
The nonpayment cancellation process can be done manually or set up as an automatic function, but, again, there's no reason to contact eBay.

@wastingtime101 @caldreamer @titipeo @pburn Thank you all for the replies but it seemed I acted to swiftly and foolishly. I found the way to cancel and did “had issues with buyer location”. I will now block him as well. I have noted all the info you guys have given me and now I will know how to handle the situation if it uprises again in the future. Hopefully I don’t get flagged for this fingers crossed haha but thank you all I really appreciate it

It's absolutely a scammer trying to steal from you and it's good that you recognized it as such.
You have 2 options.
1. Ignore the message and after 4 days (plus 1 minute), cancel for non-payment
2. Respond to the message telling him that the auction is for "X" and that's all you will send once the order shows payment was made. He may ask for your phone number and may text a fake "receipt." Don't give your number because that's not how payment is made and the "receipt" will be fake.
It's likely that payment won't be made but it wouldn't hurt to let the scammer know that you won't be falling for his lame attempt at scamming you.
