For people that are very successful on eBay what are the tricks of the trade. I have some things that I buy at auctions and some that I have directly shipped to me from China so definitely a variety of items. To me the pricing is the most difficult to find the balance between making extra profit and selling items. Plus the whole shipping issue muddies the water on some items. Any advice would be appreciated and good luck to all people selling.

First, it is important to learn eBay policies. Ideally, i would have recommended not listing anything until after you have done this, but i see you already have listings up. It takes a lot of effort, determination, and dedication to make a go of selling on eBay. There are no tricks to success, but below are a few tips:
Have you purchased anything youself on eBay before now? Sellers need to know the process of buying and what it entails. It also helps build up a little feedback history.
Invest in a postal scale and measuring tape. Never guess when it comes to shipping prep. In these early days, i would suggest you package up each item (leaving it unsealed) before listing it so you can input the exact weight and dimensions into the listing form. Until you are more familiar with the ins and outs of mailing packages, i’d avoid listing with free shipping and use calculated shipping instead. This shows the buyer the exact cost to his address, (that is, as long as the package data is correctly measured and inserted in the listing form).
When it comes to pricing, do your homework. What is your competition selling their identical and similar items for? Don’t forget to note their shipping costs as well to get the total price. Check other e-commerce sites like Walmart.com and Amazon as well as fellow eBay sellers. You are selling mainly commodity items that others will be listing as well. Price comparisons are easily made on such everyday household goods.
Your Item Specifics and descriptions need some improvement. Currently you are simply repeating your title in the description field. The quality of your listings will be reflected in Search results, so study what the top sellers who have similar items listed are doing to get a better idea of a successful listing.

eBay suggests you promote your listings at 25% for excellent performance. This means eBay will get 25% + 13% on the total sale of an item including tax and shipping. eBay is a successful company so they must know, right?

If you didn't want others to comment on your post then you should have sent the other poster a private message.
