I have been selling on here for the last 5 years and pretty much have everything down pat (short of when eBay comes out with their seller updates). I have always done 10 new listings Monday-Friday and took Sat and Sun off. It always seemed to give me about 2-3 sales a day, but now I want to start making more money. I recently started listing 10 on Sat and Sun too, now I am up to 15 each day. And I know sales are down across the board, that is not my complaint, just wanted to get a good general idea of how many I should be listing each day to make a decent income. So just wondering how many new listings you guys are doing each day.

I list between twenty and fifty items a day except when I'm buried in pictures or shipping.

At least 100, but I am in trading cards.

My goal is 10 per day (that includes weekends). I don't always make that goal but I try 🙂
Each day I also mark down older items in my store and relist items that are stale. That seems to help move them along a little.

Right now I try to do 10 a day. Working on getting it to 15 or so to build a buffer so I don't need to list everyday and just grab from drafts.
Eventually I want to get to 30 or 50 a day. And then maybe eventually more once that becomes easy. My goal with June is to make it where doing 15-20 a day is the norm.

Used to be 15-20/day.
Woeful right now, thanks to listing tool woes....
Woeful! 😫

I earned an OK living doing basically 10 a day or 50 a week and having 500-600 items running - I don't have room in storage for anymore than that. I'm pretty aggressive when it comes to flogging the inventory and tried to keep it moving at all times.
With what I do now (3-5 listings a day when I can get inventory and maybe 150 listings) I manage a part-time income, i.e., pay the bills.
I'm in a super-saturated category for the most part so consistency in listing is a necessity.

Four or five per account per day.
I'm pretty much a hobbyist at this point.
Just clearing out the leftover stock from our shop which we closed in 2014 and retired.

It depends on your niche & the amount of competitors in that niche.

Since I only do auctions, for the most part, I don't have a daily listing number. I post everything on Sunday and run a 7 day auction. I am also diversified across multiple platforms/forums but also deal with those on Sunday and while I generally check the status on a daily basis I pretty much have the rest of the week free but I am retired and do no depend on eBay or any other forum for a steady income.
There really is no magic number on how many listings you post it is more dependent on your business model. You could list 2 items or 1,000 items a week, your income depends on the actual sale and your profit margin on the items. Little more complex but in a simple example if you list 2 and sell 1 and make $100 on the 1 item it is no different that listing 1,000 items selling 100 of them and making $1 on each of those sales.

I found that a steady and regular supply of new listings does help your account with sales. Although there are other factors that we all really have no idea about- ebay is very secretive as to the search algorithms.
When things are rolling- I can list 20-30 vintage items a day but I also can go days or weeks without listing anything new and still have steady sales. (Case in point- I have only listed 20-30 items in a month because of the new unified listing tool experience......like most sellers that use a computer to list, we are frustrated at the mobile app design and the overall lack of efficiency and all the extra clicks to do everything. I took a break from ebay for the last 45 days to compensate for the maddening experience of fighting with a listing tool)
Product will be the determining factor as to making a living vs how many items you have listed

Wow! Thanks to everyone, that has certainly given me a lot to think about and consider. I know since bumping up the amount I list every day, my impressions and views have gone up. My sales have not just yet, but with the way everything is right now I am not really expecting it to.
This selling community is great, by the way!

HI! I try for 8 a day. I always have some set to list in drafts & scheduled listings. We have other accounts here not used as much any more though. Other places also I sell on also.

On Average 4-8 a Day, Sometimes up to 20, All depends on what I have to list, some items are easier & quicker to list than others.

I struggle to list 1 thing per day. I have plenty of time but little to no inventory. I can't fathom where sellers are getting 10+ things per day to list or make enough money to perpetually restock.
