How long can I take a break from selling until eBay sees me as a new seller? I am curious since I plan on having children in the near future and won't be able to work as much for a few months with a new born. Lets say if I sell, 5 - 10 items a month... will eBay take away the selling limits I currently have since I would be selling a lot less? My selling limits are $12 million/40,000 items a month (which is ridiculously high anyways), but I am just wondering what would happen.

As long as you stay active as a seller on a consistent basis, even if it's just maybe 5-10 items a month as you say, I think you'll be fine. @m60driver is right about the secret squirrel algos but they really look for accounts that have been dormant for selling for months.

I think as long as you have some items listed and sell a few items a month, I don't even think you have to sell any, you will be fine. Not having anything listed for several month is what will make you become an new seller. I don't think as long as you have items listed, even if just a few, will your selling limit be affected.

That is just one of many algorithms that Ebay seems to keep secret from sellers.

You have come to that fork in the road where one must decide between a family or eBay, one or the other there is no both 😂
Not trying to promote any youtuber but the question you asked made me think of an eBayer on YouTube who has a family and a new infant

Thank you for the information! I know... its sad to actually think about but this is my career and what I have spent a decade on perfecting! And it being a 6-figure income, its hard for me to not want to keep it going. I really want to continue building an empire while having a family!
