How does my buyer get a return shipping label?

A buyer wants to return an item, so I approved. I normally just let eBay provide a shipping label, but then I got a message from eBay which reads:

Send a return shipping label, ummyeahok

Hi Niki, You accepted a return. Your next step is to send a return shipping label to barbbarcom by Dec 01, 2020.

See the return details to buy a label from eBay at a discounted rate. If you can't send a label by Dec 01, 2020, we may send the buyer a return shipping label and charge it to your monthly invoice.”

I assumed that I had already bought one but when I click “See return details” to buy one, the only option I have is to issue refund, but am told that I should wait until after I received the item back.

Also, in my selling section, it shows that I have one return request. I have never seen one last so long before. I assumed it goes away after you’ve approved the return.

And then today, I got a message from the buyer saying:

Hello, I recently applied to return the item 333702253068 on order number 02-06091-73732. I have an issue with the return label provided. The printable item is blank and will not print. Can you help. my deadline for the return is Dec. 10 2020.”

Is the issue on his end? Mine? How can he ship the item back to me?

How does my buyer get a return shipping label?

Tell buyer to do the following:

Click on the label link again, when the return label print window opens, do not use the PRINT button at the bottom of the page. Instead click on the ">>" at the upper right of the window and either use the Print or Save option there.

Also best to make sure your browser is set to open PDF files with Adobe and not its built in reader.

How does my buyer get a return shipping label?

I've only had to deal with a few returns so from my recollection when you receive the notice that you have a return, the option to provide a return label was right there. Try going to the return request and see if you can find the option there. You do have a small window to send the buyer that label so make sure you resolve this in time. Do not contact eBay or they will mark your case as having eBay involved and that will also count against you.

Also any returns will stay on your selling record for 18 months. They aren't a strike against you unless they are for item not received, but any return will always show on your selling record for that period. Best of luck to you....

How does my buyer get a return shipping label?

There is literally no option other than to give a refund that I can find on either platform.

How does my buyer get a return shipping label?

This is from the help & contact page concerning sending a return label.

Return shipping options
When you’re responsible for return shipping, you can choose from a number of options in the return request form. To get to the return request form, go to your Returns dashboard and select View return details. If you’ve accepted the buyer’s return or offered to send them a replacement, you can choose one of the following options to let them ship the item back to you.

Send an eBay shipping label
If the package meets USPS size requirements, you can purchase a return shipping label through the return request and send it to your buyer. They can then print the label and use it to send the item back to you.

Here’s how to send an eBay shipping label from the View return details section:

Select Send an eBay shipping label.
Confirm your return address on the label.
Return shipping labels don’t include insurance. If you want return shipping to be insured, see our section on alternative return shipping options.

This is an ancient post, you’ll need to start your own to really get help. It sounds like you’re the buyer anyways, in which case you should go to the buying board (if not and you’re the seller, start a thread with all the details of your case here).
