How do I accept bid and stop others from bidding

eBay has two basic listing format: Auction and fixed price.    Fixed price listings stay active indefinitely, until somebody hits the "Buyer it now" button.  Auction-format listings have a fixed duration (of 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days).  At the end of the auction duration, the auction ends and the highest bid wins the auction.  Some of your listings are auctions, and others are fixed price.    With either format, the seller doesn't have to take action, the "buy it now" or auction bidding automatically makes the sale.

There is an option called "Best offer" that can be attached to either auction of fixed price listings.  With those, the seller can choose to accept an offer, or they can decline it, send a counteroffer, or just ignore it and let the offer expire.

Here is some basic helpful background information about how eBay works, that you should read through these pages:

I don't know where you are with this... but I see a couple of your items listed Free Shipping. You might want to revise them.
ETA: A vase made from a gourd in Mexico and a Sanrio backpack. Doh... the Sanrio has a bid. Dang.

The bag auction has more than 12 hours left to run, so the seller could choose to cancel the bid and end the listing early.  They might get stuck with a penalty fee (equal to what the final value fee would have been; about $4) but they won't get any defect point and they won't get stuck paying for the shipping.

@somedaystore

You have free shipping on the Sanrio back pack...not understanding "for sale in Japan only"  are you only selling it to someone in Japan? You're a US seller.  Your listing title may confuse people.  Everything else seems to have shipping costs attached.  You might want to work on your photos too.  Very busy and too much in the background.

Good luck and Happy Selling.

Thank you so much for your reply.

No there’s a tag inside the bag that reads “for sale in Japan only”. Yes I am located in Texas.

I want to accept this persons bid. They have met the reserve. But I can’t find where to do this.

     It is never a good idea to set a reserve on an auction. If the item does not sell you will still pay the FVF's on what you had the reserve price set at. Simply start the auction at what you would have set the reserve price at. It is never a good idea to end an auction early and simply sell it to the current highest bidder you always have the potential for additional bids and increased profit. Otherwise you may as well simply use BIN with the price you want and forget about the auction format.

     You can always see the state of your active items by going into your seller hub and looking at your active listings. It will give you all the information you need to know about when you posted the listing and the current status.

It kind of depends on what reason they use for ending the auction. You can choose to end the auction and accept the current high bid which in essence completes the order although I am not sure why anyone would do that on an auction.

With the person that made the offer, you can message them thru eBay and tell them you ran out of time to accept their offer and see if they still want the item for the price they offered.  If they do have them resubmit their offer.  Also you could change the price to their offer and let them know you changed the price for them.
