I have a question. How can a seller sell an item for $2.99 with free shipping? Still paying for shipping and ebay fees. Where is the profit in this? Is there a method I can use to do this too?

I started using the ESUS system instead of stamps when I convinced myself
that it was important to be TRS.
That, combined with the inability to buy forever stamps on ebay for 65% of face.
I'm not sure if being TRS actually saves me any money. But I AM sure I miss
the $$ I saved buying cheap forever stamps for .40 to .45 cents each

Selling an item for a very low price, such as $2.99 with free shipping, can be challenging in terms of profitability, especially when considering eBay fees and shipping costs.
This pricing strategy is typically used for low-cost, lightweight, and small items. For more expensive or bulkier items, it can be difficult to make a profit with such a low sale price.
To make it work, you need to minimize your costs as much as possible. This includes sourcing your items at very low prices, possibly through wholesale or bulk purchases.
When offering free shipping, it's essential to choose the most cost-effective shipping methods. Consider using services like USPS First-Class Mail for lightweight items, as these are generally the cheapest options. Also, try to take advantage of eBay's shipping discounts, which can help reduce your shipping costs.
eBay charges fees on both the item price and the shipping cost. Be aware that fees can cut into your margins significantly, especially when selling low-priced items. Review eBay's fee structure to understand the costs associated with your listings.
