Hello. I have been selling on Ebay for a few years and I am finding it difficult to find a product that I can sell on a regular basis and make some side money (not looking to quit my job). I do research on what is selling on Ebay and I try to sell the same product. However, I see that some sellers have sold thousands of such product, sometimes several items per day. But when I try to sell the same product, no one buys it. How can one person sell large quantities a month and I can't sell a single item of the same product in 6 months? What am I doing wrong?
Also, as a side note, how can someone from China sell an item for $.99 with free shipping and still make a profit? Between the cost of the item it self, shipping it, Ebay fees and PayPal fees, there is no way a profit can be made. Yet they sell thousands of these products without making a profit. And of course US sellers can't compete with that. How is that possible?
Thanks,
TOM

Hi Tom,
Those sellers with tons of sales are sometimes working with repeat buyers, especially in your category. The China situation is an entirely different ballgame. But regarding your question of how to advertise your products:
Have you tried using social media? Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter? Find toy groups and Lego collectors. Use hashtags.
Also, the more items you list the more your products will be seen. Try adding a bunch more listings & get involved with social media.
Good luck @jerseyshorebreakers

Tom:
Chinese manufactured junk, may be .99 cents each, cost to Americans. USA made junk will be double that at $1.99 each.
Chinese purchasing Chinese Made Junk, pay only 1 cent cost per item or 3 items per penny spent. Voila, Bob's your uncle, that's how it's done.
