How are Sellers protected from abusive Buyers?

Maybe we are missing something - here's the deal. Listed and sold a pair of work boots as used, but good condition. There were no known defects and we had many photos in the posting. Buyer left negative feedback that they fell apart w/in 2 hours of use. Buyer never contacted us there was an issue before being heavy-handed with negativity. We immediately provided a full refund and asked for the Buyer to amend the negative feedback rating since we were not given an opportunity to fix the problem. Buyer sent a rude, inappropriate response via a message ranting about the boots. We blocked the Buyer, however isn't there be a policy (maybe there is one?) that says Buyers can't harass or be rude to Sellers via messaging.  Ebay didn't help saying Buyer didn't violate any official policy. Hmm...

You can report abusive messages. Someone will likely pop in to provide guidance on that. eBay will likely not share action taken. (if any)

Amend the feedback?    If the boots fell apart, the buyer experience was less than positive. Giving a refund apparently did not create a positive experience for them.

@jamic_2425 Did someone tell you that you would be employed by eBay and eBay would pay you to post product reviews, write forum posts, or "grab orders"? This is a scam, and they are setting you up to cheat you and steal from you. Very soon, the scammers will tell you that you have to pay them to be able to withdraw your "pay".

This is called a task-scam or an order-grabbing scam. Sometimes the fake company is "eBay Mall" and sometimes they use a different name. Either way, it's a scam that has nothing to do with the real eBay.

eBay doesn't pay people to write forum posts, write product reviews, or grab orders, nor do any other companies. No legitimate company pays for fake product reviews, and they don't need (or pay) middlemen to do anything with their customers' orders.

If the scammers ask you to sign up for a cryptocurrency account, DON'T DO IT. Don't give them any (more) money. You won't get anything back. More info: https://malwaretips.com/blogs/ebay-job-scam/
