How am I supposed to sell an article if scammers buy it within 24 hours?

Honestly, I'm fed up.

I'm trying to sell a notebook with a starting bid of 360€ or instant buy for 699€.

However, my listing seemingly triggers every scammer. Shortly after I put the listing up, someone with 0 ratings purchased it, asking for the full sum in broken German - with an address in the US, while I only ship to the EU. A few days later I got an email "MC098 suspicious buyer".

After re-listing the article, I almost immediately got two messages from accounts with 0 reputation located in the US. Now, a day later, one more US account with 0 ratings and broken German purchased the notebook again.

I'm done, how am I supposed to sell anything if Ebay can't get it's scam protection together? The least that should be implemented is requiring the buyer to have an address in one of the countries I ship to..

That is already "implemented'.

The seller is required to set their Account Preferences to block those countries they do not wish to ship to.

As a low feedback seller with a scam magnet item you will continue to be a target for the criminal element...even in Austria.

Perhaps some members on the eBay.de Community Boards may have some additional advice.

You need to ask this on the European board to make sure you have all blocks in place that your home board allows.

Here in the US we block all countries we do not want to deal with in ebay as well as foreign currency in paypal.

Can you do someting similar on Ebay Europe?

It doesn't sound like you're using Immediate Payment Required.

For scammer targets, your experiences shows why you have to use that.
