How To Buy Additional Insurance?

I've sold several items and I'm about to box them up and ship them.  The buyer paid me over $900 for them, so I'd like to buy insurance.  I am simply not understanding what and where to type and click to buy additional insurance.

On the shipping label page I selected Priority Mail Large Box for $19.30.  It says in the "included coverage" column that there is "up to $50" for all Priority Mail services (for Priority Mail Express it says "up to $100").

I need additional coverage so I put a check mark next to "Add additional liability coverage (from $1.70)" and the ShipCover option appears automatically. There is a down arrow there which would allow someone to choose "USPS Insurance $2.95," which is another insurance option.  I would like to buy from ShipCover.

My confusion begins here.  Every time I key in a "Declared value" greater than $61.00 I get an error message in red which says, "The maximum coverage amount for ShipCover is $61.00."

When I click on blue link "terms of coverage for ShipCover Insurance" I get to an explanation of the terms and a listing of coverage amounts and the cost.  I would very much like to pay ShipCover and have the benefit of their excellent product, but I cannot figure out what to key in where, or what to click on to consummate the deal.

If anyone knows the what-where of buying shipping insurance on Ebay, I would love it if you could tell me how this is done.

The eBay label form will not allow you to purchase insurance greater than the selling price of the item. Apparently one of the items that this buyer bought was $61 and the label doesn't realize that you are combining purchases. You need to go back to your selling page.

If you want to insure an expensive item for the value for which it sold, ship it separately and take it to the counter.  Of course, that doesn't mean that the buyer will cooperate if there is an insurance claim, but ebay doesn't get the FVF for the added insurance.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

Did the buyer pay separately? That might account for it. If the items aren't combined, you won't be able to buy insurance online for all at once, unless you can add the other listings to the label.

How funny, why didn't I notice that??  One of the items sold for $61.00.

I will look at combining the shipment and buying insurance.

Thanks for replies.

Use a third party shipping partner.  eBay does not offer the best price and I find that my shipping partner always beats eBay’s inflated price and is easier to use. eBay and USPS are teamed up to fleece sellers anyway they can.  USPS service is third world at best for package delivery. Their motto, “We don’t care and you can’t make us.” Is the gold standard by which other government agencies compare their service.  If you sell to make money, why trust your delivery carriers to CSRs in Zamboanga and a government entity?  You’re asking for disaster every time you print a label.
