How Many Store Categories Allowed on Each Listing?

Hello:

It looks like there is a limit of only 2 store categories that can be assigned to an individual listing — is that correct? (I only see two store category dropdowns using the advanced listing tool on a desktop.)

So if one wanted a listing that had, for example, these 3 store categories, only 2 can be chosen?

BRAND

SIZE

COLOR

Thanks for any insight into whether more than 2 store categories can be chosen.

Store categories are things like books, stamps, records, glassware, etc.  Are you talking about setting up a variation listing?  These are two totally different things.

Yes, you only get 2 Store categories on a listing.

@watch_dials   You are more than welcome.  I don't sell clothing but of the three items you listed which do you think Shoppers search for most often?  Brand, Size, Color?  You could experiment with those selecting the 2 you think they search for most and see if that affects sales ... for myself if I am looking for Men's T-Shirts I would search for something like Men's Medium White T-Shirts ... for me Brand would be the least important until a list of choices were returned in Search.  For blue jeans or dockers it might be different as I would prefer Brand first then size ... color would be last on the list and I could sort through that on the returned list ... just thinking out loud.

Do you mean "different variations" of the same item?  For instance, ELGIN WATCH DIAL (available in different colors).   EBAY will show common variations COLOR, COMPATIBLE BRAND (but you can add you own variations).

What you cannot do is create "your own variation" using with word BRAND (because EBAY already used that word). 

However, if you really mean "store category" you can PAY EXTRA to have your listings appear in different categories at the same time.    EXAMPLES:     jewelry, watches or jewelry dials

Yeah...after all this time, I just realized they only allow us TWO store categories... I don't think you should be worried about "brand" as a category unless you are selling high priced "designer" items that people would search for by brand name...or are super loyal to.
