Hey everyone, I only offer one method of shipping, which is Media Mail but some of my buyers are able to select Priority Mail. I'm not terribly worried about it since my listings are specific about how I ship but I'm really curious how buyers are selecting Priority if it isn't offered. And if there is something I could do to prevent this from happening. Thanks for any input! 👍

For instance, when a seller offers MM in a category where eBay blocks the purchase of MM, the shipping label page will show a different shipping service (usually some type of Priority Mail) but will state "Buyer selected" even though they didn't. I wonder if this is happening in some of eligible subcategories that are in the "Musical instruments & gear" main category, such as sheet music and songbooks.
Yes you're right. I didn't even think of that.
I thought that shipping label glitch only shows on the sellers side?
I wasn't aware that it lets the buyer select a shipping method that's supposed to not even exist.
I guess anything is possible.

From looking at my listings
When you use the services drop down, there is USPS media mail (2 to 8 days) that can selected
When I select USPS parcel ground on my listings, it will show "Econony Shipping" in the active listing. Kind of strange!
If you print your shipping labels, I think you can override the buyer' s selection of priority.

I see several items listed as shipping by media mail, that do not qualify..a pack of cigarettes, video games, the shipping on the plates and china is not specified but the price would be in line with media rates for the weight....

Why would that lot not be eligible for MM?

The whole point here is that the buyer CANNOT select a shipping method which was not offered by the seller.
But if the buyer selects an option that is not available through eBay labels, then eBay will show the seller some other method (usually Priority) and eBay will SAY that the buyer chose it even though they did not. If a listing only offers MM, then the buyer will pay for that but if eBay is not allowing the seller to purchase MM postage for that item, then the label prep page will say that the "Buyer chose" the other service (e.g., Priority Mail) even though they did not.

Yes, those movies would be OK but the OP does have some listings for blank media that would not be OK to send Media Mail plus a bunch of listings for magazines.
