I have a skillet with lid I've had in my garage for years because I haven't been able to find anything similar anywhere on ebay. It's stainless steel, 11 inches and on the side of the skillet is a figure of a house with "Hom Ec/nu-cor/18-8 3 ply/stainless steel" imprinted into the pan. Does anyone know anything about this cookware? It's a beautiful pan but I just can't find any info on it.

I'm beginning to feel like this pan is like a T-fal set I had 10 years ago. I found a brand new set at a thrift shop and did some research on it. That line was only made for a short time back around 1970. It sold in high end department stores for around $180.00 for the set. $180.00 was a lot of money back in 1970. Nobody bought them after listing and relisting MANY times so I kept them. I'm still using them today and I love them. Maybe I'll end up with this one as well.

I purchased a set of Home Ec cookware in 1962. I still use that 10" skillet that you mention you have. The entire set is still in my cabinet and I use them all daily. Home Ec cookware has a copper core in between two layers of stainless steel. When you consider that this cookware is nearly sixty years old and still looks and cooks great, I would consider the purchase the best I ever made.
