Holds restriction and ended my listings!?

I am flabbergasted rn. I’ve been calling eBay since Dec.  they have been holding my money which is up to $500 now and no one could tell me anything other than “3 more days..” and now they have deleted all my hours of work I stayed up late to do nightly while the kids slept 😭 asking for receipts now from all my items listed? WTH?  None was anything like computers or anythjng - just old things I collected and saved here and there along with my mom’s stuff.  I can’t believe this what do I do now?  lol if I close my account will they hold my money @longer?? There has to be some illegal part to what they are doing

As a new seller you have holds on payments.

 

Payments on hold | eBay

 

You have to provide eBay with everything they ask if they want to verify your sales and identity.

Your story has changed a bit from your other couple of posts you made about this.

 

If you are not upfront and honest. no one can help you.  eBay is the one that counts.

 

Your feedback does not indicate a seller with no issues.

You can't close your account now, but Ebay can.

If you are suspended, it'll be awhile until you receive the funds.

About your listings being removed, what reason did eBay give you? They should have sent a message with an explanation.

 

Looking at your feedback, there have been a number of shipping and damage issues. Some comments were made about inadequate packaging and slow shipping even under positive ratings. And your negative feedback is for failure to ship.

 

So it is likely that those issues have hurt your standing and have bearing on your present circumstances. Showing a pattern of not honoring one’s contractual obligations to buyers can get you the boot here.

'asking for receipts'...the gym shoes up for auction being sold for almost nothing.

Quite a bit of items on auction sold for very little.

And a few negative feedbacks were given...items not received in a month.

And wondering if you canceled any sales...just two cancel might be a red flag.

Until you've been selling for 90 days and sold 25 items your payments will be held until tracking shows delivered, or in 30 days if there's no tracking.

 

They can hold the payment for the full 30 days if you're selling in a high risk category. 

 

Do NOT bother with the phones.

Use the actual employees assigned to social media.

They will call you.

The ones you call, if you actually reach eBay and not a scam site, have good training and some authority.

Plus with the Chats, you get a transcript you can read to see if what you heard is what you were told

When we see negatives, we are seeing reports from buyers who were unhappy but did not know how to open Claims.
We don't see the results of Claims. Those are private information.

 

Three negs, two neutrals, and several "false positives" indicate there may have been many Claims on a very new account.

I am sincerely sorry to hear of your enormous loss increased by the financial hardships you are experiencing.  That only makes the mourning process so much harder.  ❤️

 

It does appear that you have some misunderstandings about some Ebay policies and that is NOT Ebay's fault, that is the responsibility of each seller to know the policies and the rules of this site.  Blaming Ebay will not serve you well nor will it help you would through your current issues with the site.

 

"Pretty good standing as far as feedback."  This is one of your misunderstandings.  This is absolutely not true and you aren't in "good standing" with your feedback.  From the comments of these buyers it is clear that there is room for improvement in how quickly you ship, responding to messages and the actual condition of the items you are selling.  I'm not at all trying to insult you in any way.  I'm trying to help you understand your responsibilities.  

 

I get your frustration and coupled with your mourning it has got to be horrible for you.  

 

But even with all that you have to handle and you have going on, your customers must never feel that from you.  You need to up your customer service and always ship within your stated handling time.  Not shipping on time causes Defects in your Account Health.  You should really look at your Seller Dashboard and see what Defects you have that are hurting the health of your selling account.  It is something you should monitor at a minimum of weekly.

Just step up your game and try not to make anymore self inflicted errors [slow shipping & poor customer service].  That is the only way you work out of this.  If your Dashboard shows other areas where you have issues, pay attention to them.  Learn what those errors were and find a way not to repeat them.  All sellers have statistics in which we are eval'd on every single month.  We all have rules to follow, whether you like them or agree with them does not matter.  Learn the rules will only benefit you.

They have no explanation for removing all my listings.  The phone employee just keeps re reading what the email says. Keep our community safe blah blah. I’ve never sold fraudulent items.  I did in Dec file against a selle scan on a ps5 and they refunded my money.  That’s all I can think of.   Now they continue to hold my money $475

Um.. what? How did my story change? Every time I call customer service in some other country their explanation changes for me ? I’ve been selling on and off eBay for years.

Yes they do.  You may not agree with it, but Ebay does have a reason or reasons.  Some clue would have been in the email you received from the notifying you of the listings being closed.  So you may be overlooking it.

 

Please take a moment and copy the body of the email or emails you have received from Ebay.  Blackout any personal information.  Let us help you better understand what they are trying to communicate to you.  Once you have a better understanding, you will have a better chance of fixing whatever issue or issues there are.
