Help needed with sale event + markdown promotion.

Previously when running a sale, I had been doing markdowns based on category, I would like to try a new method and do sales percentage based on time listed.

Using "Sales Event + Markdown" then "Select Items" I would like to make date ranges of sales ie. below:

items listed for 20-90 days 30% Off.

items listed for 91-180 days 40% Off.

Here's where my question is:

If I run this sale for 30 days, will the items that I had listed within that 30 days automatically go into the 15-90 day markdown once they qualify?

What about the items that were in the 20-90 category at the start of the sale, but within the 30 day sales window they now qualify for 91-180 day (40% off discount). Will they automatically be marked down to to 40%?

If not, what is the best way to do this?

I'm not aware the markdown manager has that option.
