Help me understand my 3 day suspension.

I'm on day 3 of a 3 day suspension.

I am unable to list.  I understand that.

When I go to my store I only see 2 items. 

I could understand all or nothing, but why 2?

Hey @inhawaii - it takes time for eBay to re-index the listings as hidden which can take up to 24 hours. The same will occur when your listings are reinstated - it may happen in batches.

 

The same thing happens when you use vacation settings - it can take time to hide and unhide the listings as the site re-indexes them.

 

Hopefully the time off will have some kind of positive result - like extra time available because you don't have to ship orders means you can work out a system for managing expiration dates on your listings to make sure there are no lapses, even when temporarily OOS. If you need any suggestions or help with that, you know we've got your back. 👍

Yeah it is.

I understand WHY I was suspended. No argument there.

I just don't understand the suspension itself.

People can still buy from me. I sold something on day 1 and something on day 2.

If I log out and view my store, I see 2 items of my 250 items listed.

Just can't figure that out.

One of my food listings (variations listing with different flavors) had "Guaranteed Fresh" in the item specifics.  The actual expiration dates for each flavor was in the item description. That's how i've been doing it for years. Apparently that is against policy.  The item itself was not expired. 

 

All I needed to do was change the item specific expiration date from "Guaranteed Fresh" to an actual date but I can't do that because the listing is gone.  It was a complex listing with different flavors and many different photos. I have to start all over.

 

The really messed up thing is on a out of stock listing, let's say I ran out of an item that expired 12-2022 and i'm waiting to get more, that listing is now in violation and can be removed.   They want a current expiration date on the listing  for an item i don't have in stock yet.

I see 2 listings in your store, rice balls and caps, however a big blue banner below the items says This store has no inventory available in your location - shipping to 326--  (my zip code)

Oh, now I'm seeing what inhawaii meant - those 2 listings don't show in search view, but they show on his store page because they are "featured" listings. I kind of remember seeing this on another seller's account when they had a restriction.

 

My best guess is that it's an error/loophole in programming where the restriction settings aren't taking into account feature options on store homepages.

 

I'd also question if buyers could still make purchases if the item is on their watch list since it appears you can purchase from the featured listings.

A coffee cup has appeared on your active item listings!

 

I put it in my cart and got all the way to checkout, so it appears I could purchase it if I wanted to.
