Okay, so I sold a iphone and said it was unlocked, but it turns out, it is not. I got a message from the buyer a few days after selling it with him saying that it is a locked phone and he cannot use it to call people. What should I do to compensate for that?

RETURN FOR REFUND, I am very SORRY! then cross your fingers and say a prayer that you get it back!

I don't know anything about phones and stuff. Is there a fee they can pay to get it unlocked or even a way to do that? I would say the only 2 options are to have them return the phone and refund them, or compensate them for the cost of unlocking it if possible. Then figure out which one is more cost effective to you and do that. I hope I'm making sense here lol. I know what I'm trying to say, but not sure if I'm saying it correctly.
If there is no way to unlock then you should just accept a return and refund them. But if it would be less to compensate them to have it unlocked, go that way. Hopefully, so long as you know it was your mistake you can fix this with the least inconvenience to the buyer.

Definitely return for refund and send a shipping label for the return. Once you get your phone back, refund the buyer.
