Have any of you experieced this during a return?

I purchased an item from a seller using my buying account. The item is still sitting there.

The gems turned out to be gass.  This seller offers exchanges, so in the return I was given two choices, one to return for a refund, or the second have an exchange.

When I went to finalize the return.  It said I purchased the item as a guest user and had to go to PayPal to do the exchange? My receipt for the purchase shows I paid for it under my account.

Weird.

20 minutes with eBay overseas Customer Service and she started telling me I had to go through PayPal because I was a guest, but I wasn't. I didn't go through PayPal for this purchase, I paid with my credit card.

I am getting extremely ticked off.
