Well I was a bit concerned. Earlier this week we had so much rain come down in a short period of time. It was awful. And the wind. OMG it was scary. I live on a very wooded lot. Lots of tall trees around me.
But the last couple of days it has been getting prettier and prettier outside. It looks like a beautiful weekend is ahead of us.
Thank you for your kind wishes. I join you in wishing everyone a fun filled weekend, whatever that looks like for each of us.

Same to you, @meme6253 !
The travel industry is BOOMING. Record numbers of people are traveling this Labor Day.
I'm staying home and taking advantage of the peace and quiet.
@mam98031 A trail where I run has had several downed trees and big snags, including one tree that is held off the ground by the cyclone fence it fell on - I pick up the pace every time I run under that tree! Getting to it will be tough due to it being along a ravine on one side and a golf course on the other.

Even though we sometimes disagree on the boards, I always enjoy your holiday well wishes.

Around here, "snags" out in the woods are called Widow Makers. A couple of years ago, one fell right next to my husband. We were both very startled. But by the grace of God I still have him with me. It could have been so different.
But the weather we had earlier in the week was really strange. In all my years living in Washington I have never seen rain like what we had. The wind and rain was really pretty darn scary.
Our daughter and my almost son in law [I'm really rooting for this guy, I really love him, he is a special find] are coming over on Sunday. We always winterize the pool on Labor day weekend. Then we have good food and yard games. Fun will be had by all. We really make the task at hand FUN !!!

Those snags are pretty bad - in my area fell on a man who was out walking his dog (during a storm?!) and killed him - I think about him when I run under that fallen tree!
I've seen rain that hard - I used to have an outdoor job so have seen just about every kind of weather - but it's pretty darn rare, for sure - it was like a wall of water. 🤤

Thanks. My labor day weekend will be filled with labor as I continue to clean out my brothers home. According to the lawyer, anything like clothes, books and such can be removed. So today i ran one load to a thrift store, tomorrow morning I will fill the trailer again and run a load up to the goodwill store and maybe a second one to the thrift store I went to today. Sunday and Monday I will try to get into the two bedrooms (not the master) and get access to as much of the junk as I can.
Most frequently found item is batteries. AAA, AA, B, C and D's. Seems like every third or fourth box has batteries in it. Doesn't matter which room or anything else. Lots of other stuff like food, I am finding cans of Tomato soup all over the place.
Batteries will be donated, soup going in the trash as I don't know hw old it is.
For everyone else, take it easy and enjoy the loooonnnnnng weekend. 😅

I am so sorry you are having to deal with all this stuff on top of the grieving for your loss. It is VERY hard. I had to do the same when my Mom passed. It simply is hard!!
My thoughts are with you. I do hope you find some time for yourself to enjoy others and maybe some good food too!

😟 Friends, don't let friends hoard stuff and put your family members through this.
The soup may have sell dates on the bottom of the can - depends on the brand, I guess.

I take breaks and enjoy the company of my two golden retrievers. Sunday or Monday I will fix a turkey breast. Then I can eat leftovers for several days. That will make it a little less trouble trying to decide what to eat.
Thanks for the good wishes. It helps.

Those Honolulu Marathon "Finisher" shirts fetch a premium on ebay. 😉

Well now you've made me jealous. My two beautiful dogs [I always called them my puppies], you can see them in my Avatar. They both are gone now and I miss them so much. I'm very glad you have all that unconditional love from your TWO PUPPIES! That really can help!

for me, who ever said Dogs are man's best friend nailed it. I never had luck with people but my dogs are always there then I get down in the dumps. Walking them or playing fetch which I just got done doing a minute ago sure helps me unwind.
My dogs are visible in my avatar. Ginger just turned 7 in July, and Daisey was 5 last March (I believe).
