Have 3 days to return

If ebay wants to adopt or follow suit on a policy from another company, they could learn something from some of these selling apps. Some selling apps only offer 3 days to return something, It should not take longer than that. This 30 & 60 day return policy is ridiculous.  I just got a return that was put in 1 day before the 30 days was up, because she just didn't like the item.  It took her 29 days to realize she didn't like the item. Meaning the shorts were sitting around collecting lint, dirt and cat hair. We should not have to deal with this nastiness.

But .... but .... but .... it's 'Industry Standard' - I saw it 'in print', so it must be true.

(Hmmmm, hid the sarcasm font, again, huh?)

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

I do think the 30 and 60 day returns are way too long. Giving my magazine buyers 30 days gives them time to photograph all the photos they were looking for, read all the articles they wanted to read and then send it on back for a refund.

3 days might be too short unless it were 3 business days. Any package I have to return I have to make a 12 mile round trip to the PO which is not open on Saturdays. I actually thought the 7 days we used to have was perfect.

Of course with the shorter than 30-60 day, the flippers don't have time then to re-list the item on their side to see if they can make a larger profit and want for their buyer to accept instead of decline them before they are sent back to you in "unchanged" condition.  It really is getting out of hand.

Mercari?

I would imagine the majority of buyers there pay with their account balance - money in their account from sold items. Every single person I know who uses the Mercari app pays that way. If a buyer pays with a credit card, there is absolutely NOTHING to stop them from filing a credit card chargeback in the time their card allows. Do you think the site is going to lose money for the seller? No - they're going to debit the seller's account. They also BAN the buyer.

Google around, buyer scams happen there, too - they just happen a lot faster.

"I have all the screenshots from transaction messages which proved buyers remorse. Mercari still sided with buyer for "not as described". I know she lied and told them something false. It was described."

"I sold a pair of adidas NMDs for $200 and they claimed it was fake, but how when I bought them from Nordstrom and had the online order, packing slip & sent half the slip to the buyer. I too believe she had buyers remorse."

There are also tons of scam sellers there as well. It truly is both a buyer and a seller beware site. As a seller I NEVER list anything worth more than $10-$15. As a buyer I would never buy anything worth more than the same.

That $10/free shipping ebay section may be the coming thing.
So...to gross $4B, they have to sell to every other person on earth.

Other platforms that don't tolerate this nonsense from buyers, only give buyers three days to accept their item. Once they do THEY CANNOT COMPLAIN OR REQUEST A RETURN. Therefore, this said company is more successful in AVOIDING silly return reasons from buyers who are irresponsible and untrustworthy. They don't even entertain it. They rule favorably when a case is opened and an item is NAD. Why can't sellers see what buyers have returned in the past. I would love to see a number or percentage rate next to every BUYER on ebay and what their return rate it. I'm sure they would be much more truthful and aware of their "STATS" if they were held accountable. When pigs can fly.

It's the easiest thing for a buyer to say something's fake when they want to return and not be a penny out of pocket. They can claim anything is fake, even items that were very obviously never faked, ebay doesn't care! Like those buyer's are all such experts on fakes! It's ridiculous.

Ebay is simply out of control. Too many people have no sense of responsibility , morals or ethics in this day and age. It's a ME ME ME society.

There are a lot of buyers who pay with PayPal and their debit/credit card because Mercari does not allow them to use their account balance to pay. California is one of the affected states. I don’t know if there are others. We used to be able to use our balance but they stopped allowing it.
