You are familiar with the wildfires in Hawaii.
@inhawaii regularly posts several times a day, every day. Haven't seen anything in 4 days.
Good Thoughts everyone that he, and our other Hawaii members, are safe.

Hey Richard, Thanks for thinking of me. I'm safe on the island of Oahu. I do have friends and family on Maui. Fortunately they are all safe. The death toll is now up to 36. The hurricane winds are predicted to die down tomorrow and hopefully they can get those fires under control. I guess no matter where you live you are never immune to some type of disaster. Take care...

Hawaii must be okay, I checked post/reply history and the most recent activity was a post to a reply (08-09-23)
Hoping Hawaii is safe (I met Adam sandler there before!)

That's good to know. 'Cause let's face it - they have nowhere to run. I have been seeing reports of people jumping in the ocean just to get away from the flames. And then what do you do?

James is at the bottom edge of three islands over, to the left of Maui. Yes, it's insane that a hurricane which didn't even landfall gusted such an intense wildfire, 70-80 mph that air support couldn't help. The victims who were trapped between the fire and the ocean were picked up by the Coast Guard, many with injuries.
