Need some serious help. Just got an item reported as counterfeit which it is not. The item is already purchased and on its way to the buyer. I purchased this from eBay a few years ago when I used a different buying name, then just let it expire. I’m also having sellers not pay because they are “worried it’s not real” even though I have COA proof. This was supposed to be a fun way to make money to spend on trading cards. What the heck is going on? I am getting good feedback from my buyers, so I don’t even know why it’s happening.

I did not read anything in the OP that suggests a return has been filed - ''The item is already purchased and on its way to the buyer.''
But if it does become a return, follow the above adivce - as to eBay removing it, that happens, but as you have been paid and sent the item hopefully all will go well with this particular sale.

If you have proof, then this should not be an issue. Who reported it as counterfeit?

What kind of item?

How do you know the card you purchased on eBay several years back was not counterfeit? The authorization that came with it could have been fake.
You'll have to provide a return label and refund when it's returned.

It was a poster of a TV show with signatures on it. Purchased years ago. Gave no COA with the item, but I was assured it was fine. They had pictures up, and said what conventions they attended for the signatures. I know enough about the actors to know who was there when. Now I sold it to make money. Said the same thing, I’d purchased it on eBay from someone in London England. But it’s reported as counterfeit. More concerning is that I had a buyer purchase 4 items, and not pay for them, because they “heard” they weren’t real. I have COA’s for each individual item, and some of those are from a charity auction that I personally know the owner of. As they didn’t pay I ended up canceling the items and resisting them. Worried this is going to happen again, even though I probably only have 20 different things up for sale.

It was a poster. I’ve seen all the signatures enough to know. Pretty huge fan of the show.

I don’t even know. Just got a message from eBay it was reported.

Many of us have had listings pulled due to dubious allegations of an item being counterfeit. My son in-law sold a pair of shoes several months ago and the shoes went through Ebay's authentication process with no problems. Last week the buyer tried to sell the same pair of shoes and Ebay took them down as counterfeit and now the buyer is trying to get a refund from my son in-law. The lunatics are running the show everywhere and things are only getting crazier. Marx understood that, economically, capitalism will eventually consume itself but he failed to see the insanity it would breed.

I actually have pictures with myself and pretty much the whole cast of the show, each personalized to me. So I can prove the autographs were all real. Also talked to eBay on the phone and have it sorted. Thanks for your concern though.

eBay doesn't make the buyer show proof it's not as described and your word isn't proof it is.
What eBay has said is sometimes a buyer gets a refund and does not have to return the item.
MAYBE YOUR BUYER IS TAKING THE FIRST STEPS TO GET A FREE POSTER!
You should go ahead and provide a return label and let them know if they think it's counterfeit to please return it for a refund. If you try to explain why it is not counterfeit then it looks like you could lose the poster to the scammer.

Who knows...... Buyers can "allege" anything, unfortunately. Return for a full refund. Hope this ends better than it sounds right now.

Was it the 'The 100 season 2 poster. Autographed by various actors and actresses'???
Were I you, I'd be approving that Return. I don't know of the show '100', but if you know the item is authentic, you want it back.
My guess is that the buyer wasn't satisfied with it (for whatever reason) and selected 'Doesn't seem authentic' (or whatever the verbiage) to justify the Return.
I find that if an item sells once, it will again. Get your authentic poster back to sell to the right buyer. Good luck.

Did you add that picture to the listing to assure buyers what you sold is the real deal? Saying you have a picture but not putting it in with your listing is looking for trouble. Also if you do not believe me google charity auctions; you should find the majority of all autographs are fake. You also mentioned you bought it on Ebay, so how can you be with the person signing it?

Bottom line:
You may "know the people" at the charity house. You may have met the actors. You may believe the signatures are real. You might be correct on all accounts.
Difference is, what you say and an ACTUAL certificate of authenticity from a reputable company, are not the same and do not hold the same weight. Non of what you have is acceptable "proof" of anything.
