How easy is it for you to find things to sell? Is it easy because you have a great wholeseller or you just know where to look for these random treasures?

It is very easy to find great items to sell BUT, the difficult part is finding the buyers who want to buy it and/or who want to buy it for more than what you paid! This is where my frustration comes in. Good luck to all. 🙂

Very easy. I grab a cup of coffee, wander up to my "basket warehouse" (spare bedroom), and gleefully start opening boxes. It's like Christmas every day here.
Seriously, though, I collected Longaberger for 30 years. I have hundreds upon hundreds of baskets and accessories and pieces of pottery packed away. A lot of it I don't remember buying, yet there it is. From 1998 on, eBay was my major source.

I am actually real close to Longaberger, you know the big basket aka their offices. Is still vacant and unsold.
There are usually a few baskets at just about any auction I go to, sadly they seldom go for more than a few dollars around here I know a lot of people who lost their jobs due to Tami's mismanagement of the company and outlandish spending habits. I think it soured the area for anything Longaberger.

I mostly own what I sell. BUT I PAID A LOT of MONEY for WHAT I OWN !! But I'm still buying or trading what I sell. And I don't purchase anything for a $1 or $10. You can't be afraid to spend money to make money!! I do this for fun not business!! Unlike most people.I list and sell however many items I feel like and when I feel like doing it ! And sometimes you are happy to break even with a sale. And then there is a few times you lose a few dollars here and there! All part of having fun😄 When I decide I might buy some more of my items then it can get VERY,VERY EXPENSIVE!! Of course I keep a few and will eventually sell the remainder😀 But for me ( BUYING ) is the hardest part!! You have to KNOW about what you are PURCHASING!! You can't make just to many mistakes. So knowledge is everything and then there goes your MONEY HONEY 😀 and you know your knowledge will pay off in the end 😀 Well you hope so 😄 But i believe in myself and do just fine 😀

I live in Ohio, too, but I've never seen the basket building in person. It's a shame that she drove the company out of business. The baskets don't sell here on ebay as well as they did in the past. At this point, I'm just trying to liquidate my collection to reclaim my spare bedroom. The pottery pieces I have will sell the best. A lot of people are still looking to fill in pieces of their Longaberger bakeware and dishes, and ebay is the only easily accessible place to find them.

Buy low.... sell high. Repeat.

Last time I went past the baskey it was looking kinda worn.
Yeah, the pottery is nice but it like the baskets was so high priced.

Actually, there is a Amish family that is making the same style of baskets and sell them out of their buggy most Saturdays in Newcomerstown by the Wendy's. They have added some basic color details. I made up a basket for a charity auction using one of their lazy Susan, (made by a 10 year old and just as nice as Longaburger) a bottle of Raven's Glenn wine, some Pearl Valley Cheese, Walnut Creek jams and a few other local products. It sold for close to $300, I had like $50 in it.

between working nights at the store and seeing daily the discounted clearance sales and doing storage and other auctions i have no problem finding items. Actually with everything i own i wouldn't have to source stuff for many years if any if i just clear out my own toyboxes(sheds) but i need to leave a big load behind for my heirs to fight over and they can have a live auction here on site at that time. 🙂

It's pretty easy to find the materials I need once I come up with a new idea / theme I think will sell . Sometimes I just randomly browse through the catagories until an idea pops into my head . Sometimes I think I'll never be able to come up with anything new and then a little research can give me some great idea's . I always keep the latest trends and approaching holidays in mind . Where I need to work on improvements is how I put items together without going overboard . Tulips
