HELP ME!!! Creating Listing With Variations

I have been trying to figure out creating a listing with Variations. I read on how you are supposed to be able to do it, but cant for the life of me figure it out. Do I need to have a store subscription to be able to use that feature? Any help would be appreciated thank you.

@trashtogold  You do not have to have a store subscription.  What category are you trying to list in?  I believe that MV listings are only allowed in certain categories.  Perhaps you're trying in a category that doesn't allow it?  

I use a 3rd party lister & only have like 1 or 2 MV listings, so I can't tell you how to do it on Ebay, but the option should be obvious if it's allowed for the category you're trying to do it in.  

Keep in mind that MV listings are often used incorrectly.  THey are meant for like items, that have a variation, such the same t-shirt that is available in different sizes or ribbons that are the same except for the color or a phone case that's the same except for which phone it's for or it's design.  They are NOT meant for choice listings, such as 20 totally different CD's that tell you to choose one.

In trying to find info for you on variation listings, i have found that a seller must be eligible to post variations and some categories don’t support variations. After nosing around, i found the following categories support variations:

Still have not discovered what the eligibility factors are for sellers. Found this through eBay Developer Program:

For a listing with variations to be accepted by eBay, the seller and the listing must meet some basic qualifications.

Search YouTube for a video How to do eBay Variation Listings.  Look at several different videos until you find one that makes sense to you.  Takes a little practice but not that difficult once you figure it out.

Hey @trashtogold . A few things.

1. Create a new listing from scratch. If you relist or sell similar from a non-variation listing it will not work.

2. On the top right of the listing form there is a 3 dot menu. Click on that and select 'settings'. Toggle on the variations setting if it's not already, otherwise the option will not appear.

3. If the category is eligible, and not all categories are, you'll see variations below item specifics, above description.

4. I can't stress this enough: create variations before filling out item specifics, even though eBay completely messed up the order on the current unified listing form.

5. You have to use the website. App does not support variations.

Depends on the category. I've had the same trouble. I have car parts that I wanted to post with variations but this option is still unavailable to the motors category. So it all just depends on what you're selling.

It's almost impossible to explain how to do it.

Like others have said, It takes a little bit (or a lot) of practice to figure it out. 

Just keep trying.
